Mid Week Ladies Competition

If you or your Club are interested in knowing more, please read on, or please contact our President Pam Winstone on 9758 7319 or our Secretary Jenny Neilson on 9887 8829 or email to .

Mid-Week Ladies Emergency Pool Players:
Our Competition permits the use of Emergency Pool Players. These are players that do not belong to any one team. They must be a financial member of a club that is affiliated with Waverley Tennis however they are permitted to play for a variety of clubs. They are permitted to play as many times as necessary in their personal grade or above at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
We currently have a small group of ladies on this list, so rather than forfeit your match (with the associated fine) please consider ringing to check on their availability. Also, as there are quite a few registered emergency players listed with their own clubs, we would love these ladies to please consider joining this pool. Note that as well as playing for other clubs as an emergency player, you can still play as an emergency for your home club.
We would also like to point out that if you are on the Emergency Pool List for one season, if you wish to be entered in a team the following season, you may do so.
If you would like to register for this list please contact Jenny Neilson on 9887 8829 or email to or Hana Kaye on 9545 1447/ 0407 551 317 or email to .

Q & A:
Q: "We were half way through our matches and were washed-out. We were ahead, so have we won? ie: Do we receive the 2 additional points?"
A: With an unfinished game to have an outright winner, they must be far enough ahead that it is impossible for the opposition team to be able to win, even if the opposition team won every game from then on.
Q: "With our unfinished match, I entered the results on-line, but it registers as 'a draw'. Is this correct?"
A: Even though it says "a Draw", the points will not necessarily be 4 - 4. You still are awarded all sets that you have won, but the final 2 points will be awarded one each.
Q: "Can any player call a heatout, or just the Captains?"
A: If the temperature has reached 30degC, ANY player feeling "heat affected" may choose to stop play and the Captain then calls a heatout. Alternatively, if it reaches 30degC, but no players are feeling heat affected and feel fine to continue on without stopping, play should not be halted.
If anyone has a question that you think might be useful to others to also know the answer, please feel free to email Jenny Neilson to request it be included in our Q&A.
