New guides and tools have been published to support organisations with the new Child Safe Standards.
Short guide to the Child Safe Standards
The Short guide to the Child Safe Standards briefly outlines each of the Standards, identifying the expected outcomes, minimum requirements and compliance indicators that will assist organisations to comply with the Standards.
A guide for creating a Child Safe Organisation
The Commission has published a new edition of A guide for creating a Child Safe Organisation to support organisations with their transition to the new Standards.
This resource provides detailed information and guidance relating to each of the 11 new Standards. It contains a range of tools, links to useful resources and information about what the Commission will look for when assessing an organisation’s compliance with the new Standards.

The Commission has also published these tools and templates:
• Creating a Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
• Creating and updating your Code of Conduct
• Risk assessment and management templates
• A practical guide to choosing, supervising and developing suitable staff and volunteers
• A sample learning or training action plan.
Free Child Safe Standards Community of Practice webinar
The next Child Safe Standards Community of Practice will be delivered online and will focus on new Child Safe Standards resources for organisations. It will include an overview of the new edition of A guide for creating a Child Safe Organisation, information about what the Commission will look for when assessing an organisation’s compliance with the Child Safe Standards, and a Q&A session with the presenters.

Nominations open for the 2022 Victorian Protecting Children Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2022 Victorian Protecting Children Awards.
As part of this, we are calling for nominations for two awards made by the Commission – the Child and Youth Empowerment Award, and the Walda Blow Aboriginal Children and Young People Award.
Nominations close at 11.59pm on Friday 20 May.
